Creating a culture of Integrity
We will discuss usefulness of code of ethics; learn and experience methodology for developing code of ethics; and understand how your organization can operationalize its code.

Our session will shed light on the importance of having a code of ethics. As part of the process, participants will experience an interactive activity for developing a code of ethics that they can take back to their own organizations. By the end of this meeting, you will understand the difference between ethical values and instrumental values. And, you will see that it is possible for a group of individuals to come to agreement on a core list of shared values.

This process for developing a code of ethics is being used by organizations in private and public sectors all around the world. It was developed by the Institute for Global Ethics for which I am a Master Trainer. Personally, I have successfully used this process with boards, senior managers, and employees of corporations, and non-profits as well as graduate school, college, high school and middle school students. For the last four years, I have been effectively using this same process with small groups of Israelis and Palestinians.

As for end results, the effective use of a code of ethics improves communication, decision-making, employee commitment, and even customer loyalty. In addition, a code of ethics can help reduce expenses related to turnover, legal problems, and absenteeism.
